- Saturday 4th November saw Magor RFC travel to Trinant RFC for a rearranged cup game and the two clubs first ever meeting. In tough conditions Magor played some free flowing rugby scoring 3 good team tries in the first half, which were finished off by prop Owen Pearson, Hooker Connor Bergstrom and winger Ryan Bedborough. Outside half Ellis Wainwright added a penalty kick to take the half time score to 0-18.
The start of the second half saw Magor gain some positional foothold and two quick tries after a mazy run from centre Greg Turner resulted in a penalty try and winger Ryan Bedborough grabbed his second. Ellis Wainwright later scored his second, which Tom Pickin converted.
Upfront there were stand out performances from backrower Lee Cox and the returning Rhys Delap, who both linked up in open play more than once. Behind the pack scrum half Morgan Tyler had a solid performance, controlling the game.
The final score was 0-39 and Magor will now host Seven Sisters RFC in December. Next up, Magor host Girlings RFC in the league at Sudbrook RFC.
Tries: Owen Pearson, Connor Bergstrom, Ryan Bedborough (2), Ellis Wainwright, Penalty try.
